I'd spoken to her. She was definitely more than interested. As far as I was concerned, her interest was all I needed to confirm that what I felt for her was real. I might have been crazy to pack up my entire life and move to Chicago for a woman, but it was going to be worth it. The only problem was that her friends had managed to stop me from saying all the things I wanted to. They'd managed to pull her attention from me. It irritated me, but I couldn't very well drag her out of there. Especially when she looked like she was having fun. I’d let her have her fun for now, but in the future, the only fun she’d be having would be with me.

She would know that she was all I thought about. That she was the reason I was in the hotel in the first place. Not a job. Not a coincidence. There was no such thing as luck. If you wanted something you had to go after it. Not wait for it to fall in your lap. Or risk letting it be taken away. The timing hadn't been right, but it would be. Soon. Soon she'd be mine and I wouldn't have to share her with anyone.
